Study shows that significant gaps remain in access to LTSS services within Medicare Advantage plans.

A study published in JAMA Network Open examined Medicare Advantage (MA) plans and their long-term services and supports (LTSS) benefits from 2019 to 2025. While slightly more plans offered LTSS benefits over time, the overall proportion remained largely unchanged, and enrollment in these plans fell from 21% to 8%. The findings highlight significant gaps in access and suggest substantial untapped potential for MA plans to expand LTSS services for beneficiaries.
