Listening to personalized playlists improved symptoms and well-being for patients receiving infusion therapy at an academic community hospital.

In a study published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine, researchers assessed changes in vitals and cancer-related symptom burden with a receptive music-based intervention (rMBI): listening to a personalized playlist for 30 minutes during infusion sessions. Patients' vitals and symptom burden were measured pre-and-post intervention, with results that support effective symptom management and enhanced well-being for patients, including decreases in pain, tiredness, nausea, anxiety, and shortness of breath, along with heart rate, and systolic blood.
