How Mayo Clinic Adopted an Innovative AI Tool for Palliative Care Utilization

Mayo Clinic and Bayesian Health are working to close this gap with an AI tool that examines more than 300 patient variables, including pain scores, medications, and palliative care history, to identify hospitalized patients with unmet needs. A clinical trial showed a 44% increase in timely palliative care consults, and Mayo Clinic is now monitoring the rate of palliative care orders generated, along with outcomes including length of stay, readmissions, symptom burden, and more.
