Geography Determines Access to Palliative Care
To correspond with the release of CAPC's 2019 State-by-State Report Card on Access to Palliative Care in our Nation's Hospitals, HealthLeaders released an article covering some key takeways. Amongst them are:
- 90% of hospitals with palliative care are located in urban areas
- Only 17% of rural hospitals with fifty or more beds report having palliative care programs
- 94% of U.S. hospitals with 300 bed or more now have a palliative care program
