Factors Related to Implementation of Outpatient Palliative Care for Advanced Cancer Patients in a Safety-Net Health System
An ASCO meeting abstract published in JCO Oncology Practice examines factors influencing the early integration of outpatient palliative care (PC) for patients with advanced cancer in safety-net health systems. The researchers identified multilevel determinants—including patient, clinician , and clinic-level factors—that impact the initiation of PC services. Findings suggest that addressing these factors may enhance the timely delivery of palliative care in outpatient settings.
