In an article published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine, researchers describe “GITalk,” a communication skills training program designed to help gastroenterology fellows build primary palliative care skills for serious illness conversations. Using simulated patient cases and the REMAP framework, the program significantly improved fellows’ confidence in discussing prognosis, artificial nutrition, and more.
