On Friday, March 13th, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced new measures to keep nursing home residents safe from contracting the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as seniors are at high risk for complications. The memorandum outlines the the rules, which are based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The largest measure directs nursing homes to restrict visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel, with few exceptions.
