CAPC Partners with Mount Sinai’s Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving to Develop Caregiver Support Tools
Today, Mount Sinai announced the establishment of the Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving, designed to improve how the U.S. health care system recognizes and supports caregivers. In connection to the announcement, the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is proud to share that it will be partnering with the Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving to develop technical assistance to replicate the Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving’s model, which will be disseminated nationwide.
The Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving is led by Allison J. Applebaum, PhD, a renowned expert in the psychological needs of caregivers and a Professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. CAPC is thrilled that Dr. Applebaum will also be a keynote speaker at the upcoming CAPC National Seminar, where she will be presenting “Family Caregivers: The Invisible Backbone of U.S. Health Care”, a synthesis of the landscape of caregiving in the U.S. today, highlighting innovative, sustainable models for caregiver support services.
