New curriculum helps palliative care and geriatrics professionals lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

Effective leadership is critical for sustaining and growing high-quality programs. Yet many clinicians step into leadership roles without the training needed to navigate the complexities of health care systems, organizational and team dynamics, institutional politics, and the business aspects of health care.

To meet this need, CAPC is excited to announce the launch of its new unit, Leadership Training for Palliative Care and Geriatrics Professionals, which offers practical training, tools, and insights to help learners grow into the leaders our patients urgently need.

This self-paced curriculum equips palliative care and geriatrics professionals at various stages of their leadership journey with the tools needed to lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion. This includes:

  • Personal leadership skills rooted in emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • A foundational understanding of U.S. health care policy, payment systems, and financing
  • Practical tools for team leadership, change management, and strategic planning
  • Insights tailored to palliative care and geriatrics professionals at all stages of their leadership journey

CAPC members, take these courses (3 units which include 6 individual courses each) and earn continuing education credits (for physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers). Free ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits are also available for physicians.
