Mercy Health Physicians –Youngstown is seeking a motivated and capable board eligible or board certified physician to serve as the Medical Director for Palliative Medicine & Hospice. The full time position is immediately available and is well suited for an individual that is equally passionate about Palliative Medicine and Hospice and who desires to be involved with our growing service. This position will be responsible for the overall medical direction of the Palliative Medicine and Hospice patient care program and supervision of physicians. The role will include both clinical practice and administrative duties while promoting the standards of quality patient care and contributing to the philosophy and mission of the programs.

Mercy Health Palliative Medicine Program was established in 2010. We currently provide inpatient consultation to three Hospitals in the Mercy Youngstown system, operate two Outpatient Clinics, and provide Community Based Palliative Care Services in-home and at local facilities.

Hospice of the Valley, Inc., a subsidiary of Mercy Health has served the community since 1979 as the largest non-profit hospice in the area. Hospice of the Valley maintains a census averaging 240 patients per day, including a 16 bed Inpatient facility.
