As the Palliative Chaplain at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, you will provide religious and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff with a particular emphasis in palliative care. This includes offering religious and ethical consultation for patients, families and staff, grief support for patients and bereavement support for families and staff. You will provide education to spiritual care students while collaborating with the multidisciplinary patient care team and religious leaders for faith-specific patient care needs.
We're seeking a knowledgeable, passionate and sensitive spiritual leader with:
Graduate level theological degree from CHEA-member accredited school.
Ordination to ministry and endorsement to chaplaincy by appropriate religious authority.
Minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE, or equivalent.
Board Certified/Eligible by the APC, NAJC, or NACC.
A minimum of three years ministerial experience, including hospital experience.
Ability to articulate spiritual assessment of patients and families.
Particular skill in providing pastoral counseling to bereaved and grieving individuals.
Ability to speak with people of various religious, social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
