Managing Expectations in Times of Uncertainty
Monday, September 281 p.m. - 2 p.m. ET
COVID-19 is forcing us all to navigate through uncertain times. Many palliative care leaders cite this as a key challenge and are searching for new tools to assist.
This Master Clinician session will present and illustrate a systematic, case-based approach to managing expectations during times of uncertainty. During the session, Karen Steinhauser, PhD, and Sharon Hull, MD, professional development coaches at Duke University School of Medicine, will coach CAPC member Stephanie Terauchi, MD, FAAHPM, on an active leadership or managerial issue. After debriefing the coaching session, the presenters will field questions from other participants about their current challenges. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify key components of this systematic approach, and will be equipped with skills for managing and addressing expectations during times like the present.
