Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of cancer therapy, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy—the latter for the brain, gastrointestinal tract, or liver. How can we help patients control these side effects and improve quality of life?

In this Master Clinician session, Drs. Danielle Noreika and Emily B. Rivet look at the pathophysiology and causes of nausea and vomiting in people living with cancer, including malignant bowel obstruction (MBO), and more. Additionally, they demonstrate the importance of adequately controlling these side effects, to help patients continue cancer treatment and improve quality of life, explaining potential strategies for relieving the nausea and vomiting.
