ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
The need for quality palliative care programs is ever increasing given the demands of an aging population, chronic disease and an ever burdened health care system. The framework and preferred practices developed by the National Consensus Project and the National Quality Forum can serve to guide the field of palliative care and to insure that consumers receive consistent, high quality care. This audio conference will apply the framework of quality palliative care and describe ways that the NQF preferred practices can guide existing programs to "raise the bar," advise new programs and serve as a foundation for policy and research initiatives.
