ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:
Palliative care is a medical subspecialty that is not yet recognized by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). As a result, many audit rules used by CMS inadvertently result in denials for appropriate palliative care consults.
This audio conference will review the common reasons for CMS application errors, provide recommendations to minimize denials and supply concrete strategies to simplify appeals. A review of Part B billing for hospital consults will also be presented, providing participants with essential tools to engage constructively with their billing staff; identify problems; develop solutions and improve collections from Part B services.
