We are also on the certification journey and wondered how anyone addressed PCPC.2 EP#1 - the program discusses with patinets how they want to receive information, including the type and extent of information.
Will TJC assess that you ask your patients this question verbatim? Thanks!

For this practice standard, we were able to demonstrate our discussions with the patient on our consult forms/progress notes/etc. Per the Performance Standard Guide published by CAPC, they suggest using the "initial patient assessment" to document a patient's wishes about receiving information. We didn't field any specific questions about this particular standard on the day of our survey, but we would have been able to demonstrate sufficient documentation in the "Attending Documentation" section on pg 2 of our consult form which includes information about coordination of care, counseling offered, etc.
