The experience of palliative care teams shows a range of data on volume/provider. Variables that influence this include type of consults, unit support from care coordinators/social workers, whether you practice in an academic setting, composition of your team-- just to name a few. Approximately 200-250/consults per fte is used as an estimate, with annual visits ( new + follow-up) ranging from 750-1000/year/provider.There are additional discussion on related questions to yours archived on the forum too.
We would also encourage you to consider the non-direct patient care value your team contributes.
