Post Ideal ratio for Physician to ARNP Oversight

Here in Oklahoma, the state board gives ARNP's a great deal of freedom in terms of their oversight and prescriptive authority. We are now transitioning to add several ARNP's to our existing MD-led Palliative Care service. My question is: for each 1.0 FTE ARNP seeing patients on the service, how many physician-FTE’s are required for oversight? I imagine this number varies with the complexity of patients’ symptoms and therapeutics, but is there a ball-park figure?

I'm not aware of any established numbers for physician oversight of APN's. As well as the patient complexity, you will want to consider the ANP's experience, supporting IDT members and the physician's other demands.
