Hello - I will be leaving my role as NP for the Pain/Palliative Care Service at our hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. As a result, there is now a job opening at our hospital! If you know of anyone interested in this job, please feel free to share the information with them as well.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner / Palliative Care Program Coordinator coordinates the Association’s Palliative Care Program and provides direct pain and palliative care consultation services to patients and their families in collaboration with the physician medical director, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
Basic life support certification required; ACLS certification is optional.
Work experience in nursing practice, NP experience preferred, in the following areas: acute care, oncology, ambulatory care, pain management, and/or palliative care desirable.
Knowledge of end-of-life care, including advanced care planning, pain and symptom control of the terminally ill, and bereavement care issues desired.
Must be licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Wisconsin.
Board certification from a nationally recognized accrediting body; Family Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.
Board certification as an advanced hospice and palliative care nurse by a nationally recognized certifying agency or the ability to sit for the exam within 1 year of employment.
Pain Management nursing certification desirable.

Hours: Days, Monday - Friday: 08-1630; some earlier and evening meetings; co-facilitate the Chronic Pain Support Group.
