There are many instances where working with multiple programs could be seen as a conflict of interest. Your current employer may have some non-compete expectations of you. I would encourage you to consult an attorney and to discuss this with your current employer. Putting things out on the table and being up front with what you are thinking would be advised. That way you aren't speculating about their response--you'll know.
