Most likely the productivity for palliative care would be akin to hospice MSW productivity. One of the sources you can reference is: fazzi.com In general, the productivity target standard is probably 3-4 visits per day. In general, for palliative care we have utilized the NHPCO guidelines for case loads and productivity. These suggest an average caseload of about 30 patients per FTE. As someone who has done home visits for palliative care through a home care agency, I think it may be difficult to get in 4 visits in a day, depending upon travel, etc. These visits/ patient care needs also tend to require significant collateral communication and coordination which is often something that falls to the social worker, and so should be factored in to productivity expectations.
