I was wondering if anyone has sent a patient home on continuos suction for a repogle? What type of suction machine was the family able to rent?

Hello,

I have no idea what a repogle is.......but we have,on rare occasion, needed to send a chest tube home on continuouas suction. Our affiliated DME company investigated and I believe purchased a machine as it was difficult to get. They take care of the insurance rental charges. So maybe collaborating with a DME you use frquently or is affiliated with your institution may help you.

I believe a replogle is a suction tube/catheter that has an extra lumen for venting. We haven't specifically sent patients home with these but we certainly have sent patients on continuous suction, for a defined/short-term period of time. I agree with the idea of contacting one or more DME companies to see what's available.
