Hi. Our hospital system made this conversion several years ago. On the one hand, the feeling is that this terminology better reflects the situation at hand and describes the goals of limiting care best. On the other hand, old habits die hard, and the task of continually pressing the troops to use the new terms, and to get on board with the plan when they may use these tools less frequently, etc. can be a challenge. I think the change has been beneficial in that the descriptors are more congruent with our intentions, and it has been well received by families. Culture change needs time though, so plan accordingly.
