Hi! We do have a number of established triggers that we use and that have been effective in giving colleagues some parameters for palliative care referral. The Pediatric PCLC programs are in the process of compiling many helpful resources for pediatric palliative care programs at various stages of development. One of those documents is "referral criteria (aka triggers)" which will be up on the CAPC website soon. The triggers are divided into "automatic" and "suggested" categories by diagnosis and are meant to serve as guidelines. We hope that programs will find them helpful in initiating and continuing dialogue with referral sources.
