Hi Patty,
I work in a pediatric oncology unit. we see infants only rarely, but I refer you to chapter 4 in my book The Angel Letters: Lessons That Dying Can Teach Us About Living, available at all bookstores or at amazon.com. The chapter discusses the work that doctors, nurses, therapists and family members did together to help a 9 month old who was dying from a medulloblastoma. I believe the themes and concepts written about can be helpful to you.
Best,
Norman Fried
