Post HF acute care NP seekin board cert in H+PC

I work in a HF/EP clinic- both inpt and op. Realizing the palliative care needs of my pt population are huge- and starting to incorporate OP PC consults for end stage HF pts. Seeing the need to expand PC services to earlier in disease mgmt, and follow along trajectory- and thus working with PC team on how to best make this happen. Considering acquiring needed post master's hours of PC exposure and testing for National Board certification of H+PC nurses exam for APRN. Any NPs out there in similar situations- working in a disease specific clinic and desiring PC speciality- to improve wholistic quality of pt care?

There are several programs that you may want to explore as well as some other independent learning and conferences that may be helpful:
--The Harvard Palliative Care Training Program
--Explore all the incredible clinical resources on the CAPC Website such as the IPal products, audio conferences, e-learning, etc.
--Stanford e-learning
--HPNA (Hospice and Palliative Nursing Association) membership also provides subscription to the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing. All levels of nursing have certification exam available. The syllabus to prepare for the exam is on the certification web site. There are also core competencies for palliative care delivery.
--AAHPM (American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine) Lots and lots of resources accessible including resources/books/study guides that you can order. The UNIPAC series is an independent study that is great to prepare. There is also an annual conference sponsored by AAHPM and HPNA.
--EPEC (End of life Physician Education)and ELNEC (End of life Nursing Education consortium) provide trainings for core elements of palliative care with lots of training resources included in the training. You can just google those terms.
--Fast Facts and EPERC (a physician independent learning program) both coem out of the Medical College of Wisconsin and can be googled.
--Your state and national Hospice and Palliative Organizations also have tremendous training and resources. Check them out. Sharol Herr, RN, BSN, MSEd, CHPN; Palliative Clinical Manager; Mount Carmel Health Palliative Care Leadership Center; Columbus, Ohio.
