I am assuming you bill for your professional services, is that correct? Also, do the LTC facilities have their own hospices? We have been trying (only minimally successfully) to branch into the LTC arena. The vast majority of the LTCs in our vicinity also run their own hospices. Thus, they feel we will be taking "business" away from them. We are also associated with a hospice program. Any ideas on how we can overcome this barrier?

Hi, I'd like to learn more about your consult service. Could you email a description or information? Thanks in advance. cyunghans@libertyhospital.org

Janet Braun at the Palliative Care and Hospice of the Bluegrass is the author of the earlier post. They have the palliative care service in the LTC facilities provided by advanced practice nurses. I would encourage you to contact her at jbraun@hospicebg.org for more information about the program model. Sharol Herr, RN, MSEd, CHPN; Palliative Nurse Clinician/Education Coordinator; Mt.
