hi i am doing my BSc hons and my project is about the intergration of palliative care into ICU i have been reading about IPAL-ICU and wondered if anyone can tell me how this came about and why

The IPAL Project(Improving Palliative Care in the ICU), an initiative of the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), is designed to share expertise, evidence, tools and resource materials for palliative care services in the ICU setting.

The provision of palliative care in the ICU for patients with advanced illness is extremely important. The IPAL Project is designed to provide resources to clinicians doing this kind of work. IPAL was launched in 2010 by Judy Nelson, MD, JD with support from the National Institutes of Health.

It is a terrific resource.
