Hey! Improvement needed indeed! Wow those numbers really bring home the reality that there is indeed something lacking in the ICU department. For the majority of deaths to occur in the hospital, then the majority of those deaths to be from the ICU, surely improvements in that area would be at the forefront of any developmental plans. At least I would hope so. And I agree that informing the family as well as the patient can only be a positive thing.
