Like the other answers, we allow DNR patients to stay in IUC and will transfer these same patients INTO the ICU if symptom managment warrants or if it is to treat a seperate issue from the one that the patient is terminal with. We often get resistance from care managers and nursing but remind them that DNR is not Do Nothing Really!
