very nice thoughts, thank you. Trauma is certainly that kind of time. I remember, in a whole different setting- long term illness and debility, appreciating pictures of what the patient used to look like prior to their terrible illness. Similarly, asking about patients' preferences, interests, beliefs, etc might complement your approach
