Center to Advance Palliative Care

I am an ex SICU/trauma nurse. I had an existing relationship with the trauma team and was welcomed in my new role as Palliative RN. I round with the trauma surgeon and NP about once a week. I frequently participate in family conferences with the team on their most critical pt's with a lot of decision-making and potential EOL issues. It has worked well and I have been able to support some families through difficult times and decisions, as well as staff. There is definitely a place for palliative care in the trauma world...
