You raise an interesting question. Self care is an important feature of palliative care programs, and some hospitals may even include staff support to foster resilency as part of their hospital quality plan.
It would be important to clarify the purpose of these meetings, and differentiate from care conferences that allow teams to problem solve challenging situations. Attendees would need to agree to ground rules that address confidentiality as well as other parameters. Usually discussions that include Employee Assistance Personnel (EAP)are confidential. Best advice would be to talk with your hospital's legal representative as state laws differ, and their help could ensure that this is developed in the best way. Best of luck with your new program!
