However, I guess we all individually need to decide at the local level, knowing the culture of our institutions and community, what to do when this issue comes up. Since sometimes it's better to bow to pressure and tow the line to get the necessary support to provide a good service, ie. pick your battles.

Branding and differentiating yourself in the markeplace is key to any successful business. If you are in the business of doing good while generating revenue you absolutely should consider branding/naming your product. The challenge once done is educating key influencers such as Physicians, Nurses, SWs, Case Managers and etc about the specifics of your program including clear insight on what palliative care means and how your service can improve the quality of life for those who are facing chronic health care issues.
