Hi,

Outpatient palliative care consultation does not require a contract with patients. For clinicians billing as consultants/specialists, there is no contract. The issue of insurance authorization for the service is a separate matter. However, with palliative medicine recognized officially as a sub-specialty, this has become less of a problem.

If there are others with additional information, please let us know.

best,
mike
