I would recommend looking at the curriculum for this nursing program to see if other topics are addressed, for example, pain and symptom management, psychosocial care of patients and families--and other domains of palliative care. Another important question is the level of student and alloted time for your presentation. Ask if any learner assessment data is available, too. Initial topics that are commonly addressed as foundational are the domains of palliative care and National Quality Forum's Preferred Practices for palliative care. Pain and symptom management is likely to be of interest, too. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has developed competencies in palliative care for nursing students and the ELNEC curriculum are two well regarded resources. Good luck!
