| Re:homebound status (by StacyRemke on 06/29/2011)
We have a home based program component, and do have homebound criteria that we consider for those services. However, we offer palliatiev care inpatient and in a clinic setting, and do not have homebound as criteria for that. As a social worker, I would consider homebound status, or degree of that, as important information for care planning, and sometimes a specific risk factor, but not necessarily criteria for access to services. There are plenty of folks walking around and participating in life, school, family and work while managing the burdens of their disease or condition, and one important goal of palliative care is to keep them that way as we are able!
