Here's 3 things as a follow-up to yesterday’s popular CAPC audio conference, “Using Disease or Patient-Based Consultation Triggers,” presented by David E. Weissman, MD, FACP:

1. We’ve posted a paper on our website entitled, “Estimating Consult Volume and Cost Avoidance.” This tool is designed to help you understand key principles in calculating both consultation volume and potential cost avoidance for your hospital, to guide your start-up and palliative care program planning.

To download this free tool, copy and paste this link into your browser:

http://www.capc.org/tools-for-palliative-care-programs/finance/

Then click on the pdf file entitled, “Estimating Consult Volume and Cost Avoidance” under the Programs in Early Development section.

2. Dr. Weissman also referenced in his talk yesterday the Top Tools ToolkitTM which contains customizable tools for your program's operational development. It is available for purchase on our CAPC Campus OnlineTM website.

Copy and paste this link for more details:

Note: To access the ToolkitTM you must follow the instructions on the above link and create a unique username and password. Then you can login to purchase it if you choose on CAPC Campus OnlineTM.

3. We've posted Pivotal Palliative Care articles on our homepage.

Copy and paste this link to access them free of charge:
