Post Fantastic New Book on Doctor-Patient Communication

Tony Back, Bob Arnold, and James Tulsky have written the definitive handbook on how to talk to patients and families during serious illness. It takes on the most difficult and profound aspects of being a doctor- but it is practical, concise, real- you can tell it is written by practicing clinicians! I wish I had had this book when I was learning to be a doctor, and when I was teaching others, and I am glad I have it now- some of these conversations still make me nervous! Doctors in training now- and all of us- are lucky we have this book.
