Post Massage Therapy in Palliative Care

I am a certified massage therapist with independent contracts to provide massage therapy in two hospitals in my area. In one, I work on all floors; in the other, I provide pre-op and post-op massage in the surgery center. This work has been incredibly effective -- and rewarding -- for everyone involved. I would like to add more relationships to my practice, or to start a program in a new location. If anyone has suggestions, contacts or requests featuring locations for palliative care in the San Francisco Bay Area, let me know! I am prepared, also, to develop a proposal or program outline for an interested foundation or facility.

Please feel free to contact me regarding developing a massage therapy program. We have a very successful massage therapy program at the Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute, Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Our program offers massage therapy and meditation for symptoms, stress management,and relaxation for patients, families and staff. Our program model is easily replicable and we are happy to share it with anyone interested in developing a hospital-based massage therapy program.

This may be a bit off topic, but I am wondering if anyone uses drum circles or drumming for the hospice and palliative care staff or patients. I am eager to offer this in our program but would like to hear from people who are already using this.

We are a small community hospital and would like to develop a contractual agreement with a few local certified massage therapists to do just what you do for pain management / palliative care as well as for vigiling family members/ caretakers. I would be very grateful if you could help answer a few questions on how to get this type of program going... funding options, proposals, contract examples, etc. Please contact me when you have a moment.
