Post food flavors for comfort

We have a patient that has a tonsilar tumor, unable to eat or drink.He has a trach and a pegg tube. He wants to experinece the taste of a cheeseburger. We are going to try beef broth on toothets but any othere ideas?

Any time a patient has swallowing problems and you want to provide alternative food taste, etc. be sure that you have discussed the risks benefits of the intervention. If the patient is alert and assuming his oral mucosa is intact and he has a tongue, you could have the patient take a bite of the cheeseburger, get the flavor and then spit it out.
