Marie, It sounds like you have adequate staffing. I am only able to speak to inpatient acute care. For example, to open a new case HF critical care usually will take 1 1/2 to 2 hours which includes researching the chart,communications with healthcare providers on the case and then family support & communications. Of course more time if a family mtg is set up with attending or consults. I do f/u visits daily which may take from 10 mins. to 1 hour. I can handle 3-4 pts nicely per week but I have had up to 11-12. Withdrawing a pt from life support or cases referred to Sharing Network naturally take much longer. Jill
