Post Palliative Care and Case management

We have had a successful palliative care program for 4 years under nursing. There is now a push from administration to place program under case management where nurse will also team with case managers. The PC docs are concerned about a conflict of interest. In the past,we have had many families who have felt like the hospital was pushing them out the door. As a separate department, the PC doc is able to avoid any perceived conflict of interest. Does anyone have any comments regarding this situation? Note: The PC nurse is employed by the hospital and will be part of the case management team. The PC dotors are independent. Thanks
