| Re:Criteria for Physician Participation (by SharolHerr on 06/23/2008)
Criteria for physician participation is quite varied. Some physicians function as back-up to NP and the team, others are primary consultants on the palliative care team. One of the things that seems to be helpful is to have routine processes and communications that the physician can participate in. I recommend the AAHPM website for physician resources in palliative medicine. There are specific educational resources and practice resources. www.AAHPM.org is the website. There are also criteria for taking the certification exam and requirements for the exam. The EPEC curriculum also has wonderful resources for physician education and is specifically designed for physician education. www.epec.net
