We use the Ethical Religious Directives and the use of the benefit vs. burden concept. www.usccb.org

This is an excellent website that outlines the Catholic Health Care Directives and has a section specifically about End of Life care.
I used the section yesterday when meeting with a family member whose mother was dying and it was appropriate to stop the tube feedings in the presence of advanced HF and advanced age.
