Hi. Basically, for inpatient hospital services, programs can expect to bill physcian time, and NP/APRN time based on your state guidelines. In general, you can aim to recoup about 30% of staff time through billing, based on reports from programs to date. We of course hope this will improve as field develops, but most programs rely heavily on philanthropic support at present. For outpatient care, MD, APRN/ NP and MSW time should all be billable, and so clinic models are looking like a good option to consider for some programs too. Billing in general follows MA/ Medicare guidelines. CAPC PCLC training includes a module on making the financial case fro Peds palliative care, and so you may wnat to look at that option too. Hope that helps. Let us know if you have more specific questions.
