Post Palliative and geriatric programs

Hi. We are in the process of developing a palliative care program at our hospital. The hospital is also considering a geriatric program which has very similar aspects to our program such as an interdisciplinary team and focus on EOL care in the hospital. I would welcome any information on how hospitals with both a geriatric and a palliative care program work together.

There are some clear overlaps between palliative care and geriatrics. I'd recommend your contact Sandra Moody-Ayers at the SF VA sandra.moody@med.va.gov. She might be able to describe how her institution has dealt with both services. Michael W.
