Post Hospitalists and Palliative Care

Our hospital is currently looking at developing a hospitalist program and is wondering if we can integrate the Palliative Care service within the hospitalist group. Does anyone have any experience with anything similar to this? Any evidence or support either for or against this approach?
Your expert guidance would be helpful.

Would this be adult medicine or pediatric medicine? There are a few hospitals that have Palliative Care Committees and serve as consultants for all admitting physicians. You could integrate Palliative into Hospitalists but it might be "too much". Really depends on the climate of the hospital.
