I started up my hospital's Palliative Care program 2 years ago. I would also strongly encourage you, along with other key stakeholders at your institution, to attend training at a PCLC. Try to match up your type of hospital with the PCLC that most closely matches. For example I chose to attend the training at Mt. Carmel Health System in Ohio, because, like my hospital, it was part of a multiple hospital system and had other qualities that were similar. If at all possible, do not go alone, try to take at least 3 other people from your hospital with you.
