| Re:Press Ganey-Patient Satisfaction (by SharolHerr on 11/15/2011)
There is one standardized satisfaction survey specifically for palliative Care that was developed by NHPCO. Unfortunately, it is primarily being used by a small number of out patient programs. It is encouraged for programs to survey the patients that are served by Palliative Care and include in the survey a question that is common also to the hospital general survey so you can benchmark against other patients in the system. Mount Camel Health has Palliative Care Units and a survey is sent to pts/families of those who were transferred to the PC unit. We found that there is a substantially more favorable response to the common question, "Would you recommend" question that is used on both surveys. I'm not aware of any research but if I see something I'll see that it gets brought our on the forum.
